Totally Lame; In 2008 a feared dictator can get an election canceled by using violence and intimidation.

Morgan Tsvangirai announced that he is pulling out of Friday’s presidential runoff election because of mounting violence and intimidation.
I promised myself not to get all political on this site, and to just keep things light – but this is 101% lame. I’ve been following this story since the original election – which Tsvangirai squeaked ahead in to narrowly win. The entire time I hoped to see Tsvangirai prevail but now he is backing down from the fight.
I think it’s both lame on Mugabe’s part and Tsvangirai’s. It’s even lame on the behalf of the neighbors of Zimbabwe who stand by and do nothing while talking tough. Why send “election monitors” but not have any force to act upon transgressions?
